Kyrie Eleison

From the description:

The Kyrie from the Missa Cantata for the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel. The Kyrie is taken from William Byrd’s Mass for Three Voices and was reworked into a 9-fold Kyrie for the Mass.

The choir for the service is made up of seminarians from Holy Cross School of Theology in Brookline MA, lead by the parish organist and choir director, Ian Abodeely.

The service was held at St. Stephen Orthodox Church (Western Rite) in Springfield, Massachusetts, a parish of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America.

  1. Matthew says:

Very nice. Didn’t know HOLY CROSS indulged in Western Rite things.

  2. Susan Peterson says:

Can anyone put me in touch with Fr. Hughes, the Antiochian Western Rite Vicar?
I had a good long talk with him seven years ago at the reception after he married my son and his wife. I met him again briefly about four years ago when my son’s wife’s mother, a widow, remarried.
I knew where his regular Antiochian parish was, but he doesn’t appear to be there any more.
Can anyone tell me how to get in touch with him?
    Thanks
    Susan Peterson
